Racing wheel with excellent value for money

The GAMEMON mini racing wheel offers excellent value for money. This steering wheel is perfect for playing racing games on PC. There are certain things about this bike that I like and there are just a couple of downsides. 2 MODES The steering wheel has 2 modes that you can turn it into. input) - The first mode when connecting is for USB racing wheel. Some games recognize it as a racing wheel, some don't. Mode 2 (D input) - The second mode, when you press and hold the home button for a few seconds, is more like a controller. Games recognize it as a Dualshock controller. Most games will work with it in this mode. SIZE/FEEL This is a mini handlebar, so it's small. But I really like the size of this wheel. I usually use it on my knees. So the small size is ideal. It also makes it easier to pack and ship to a friend's house. The suction cups on the underside of the wheel stick very well to smooth surfaces. I usually attach the wheel to an advanced form of stationary control, a children's book, and it works great. I had no problems with the suction cups loosening or slipping. 90 DEGREES This wheel rotates 90 degrees, so it's not the best for driving sims. But it works great for racing games. The small turning radius makes it easier for me to play racing games. PLAYSTATION 3 In my experience only mode 2 works with PS3. I only have a few PS3 racing games so I don't know how well they work with most games. I plugged it in and nothing happened. Then I plugged it back in and nothing happened but I waited a bit and it worked. Games - The games I tried worked well. All controls worked and I didn't have to change any buttons. There was only one problem with the pedals; I will tell you more in the "Cons" section. This steering wheel works great on PC. There was a disc to install drivers for the steering wheel, but I didn't use the disc and the steering wheel works fine. My best experiences with this bike have been with Trackmania Turbo, Spintires and Cruis'n World. These games had the smoothest controls. Grid 2 - this game works with both modes. In both modes, however, the accelerator pedal works like a button. Because of this, this game is very difficult to play and I will cover this in more detail in the Cons section. Spintires - This game works with both modes. However, I find that mode 2 works best. This wheel is perfect for Spintires. The 90 degree rotation fits perfectly with the small turning radius of the trucks in this game. American Truck Simulator - this game works in both modes. However, I find that mode 1 works best. This game has many different settings and sensitivities to make this wheel as smooth as possible. The wheel is really good for this game. However, the 90 degree radius doesn't make it as nice as the larger radius. Retroarch: I could only get the wheel to work in mode 2. But Retroarch recognized it as a controller and I was able to navigate the menus. I had to remap the controls in the Mame games I've played to get the pedals to work on the gas, but that's fine. ANDROID Wheel doesn't say it works with Android. But I tried it on my smartphone and it really worked. I tried different racing games and most worked with the wheel in mode 1. I couldn't get the wheel to work in mode 2. Play Store - Table Top Racing, Horizon Chase and Beach Buggy Racing worked with the steering wheel other than the pedals. All these games worked with steering wheel and auto throttle, so they are playable, you just won't be able to control the gas and brake. Emulation - Retroarch and Mupen64Plus FZ worked fine, just like on PC. Because these emulators have controller mapping, you can set up the pedals to work in any game. A small bonus to using this wheel on the Retroarch is that the buttons on the wheel can be used for any game, not just racing games. I was able to play Contra with no problems using the D-Pad and buttons. CONS: This bike doesn't have too many flaws, just one major one and a few annoyances. Pressure Sensitivity - Pedals register as X and Square on PS3. That means you don't get any pressure from R2. This is also the case with some PC games when using the steering wheel in mode 2. This makes most racing games almost impossible to play. Grid 2 was unplayable and very frustrating. When you step on the gas, you just get out of control. Vibrations aren't necessarily bad for the bike, just a little annoying. When the wheel first starts to vibrate, you will hear a low, high-pitched squeak. This is good for most games and if used during the day. But if you use it late at night, especially with Spintires. Basically, it makes you whine in a high pitch. But that's easily fixed by simply turning off vibration. Pedal Size โ€“ Again, not necessarily a bad thing, but a little annoying. For me, the pedals are very close together. When playing a racing game, you must always use both pedals. My legs are getting tired of holding them so close together for a while. This may not be a problem for most people, but it is for fat people like me. PHOTO I have attached a photo to show the size comparison between the two wheels that GAMEMON offers. All in all, this is a great mini racing wheel for PC. . I really enjoyed using this wheel and the size was perfect for lap use. However, I would not recommend this steering wheel if you want to play on PS3. Pedals registered as X will only ruin the experience. But if you plan to use it on PC then this wheel is a must have, especially for the price.

Pros
  • Compatible with Playstation 3 and PC D-input and X-input
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other models
