This makeup mirror with suction cup works very well for me and I am very happy with it so far. Here are some tips to make it work well for you. 1. Before installation, use a good quality mirror/glass cleaner to clean the surface of the primary mirror where the suction cup will be located (Figure 1).2. When installing on the primary mirror, make sure the twist collar mechanism (Figure 2) is turned fully counterclockwise until it stops. Then press the suction cup against the mirror and, while pressing against the collar, turn the rotating collar clockwise until you feel it "click" (you will feel the "click", you won't hear it). If you don't feel a "click," you haven't turned it far enough. Now the suction cup should be firmly stuck to the mirror surface. The angle of the mirror can now be adjusted.3. To detach, firmly grasp the mirror of the vanity mirror with one hand and with the other hand turn the rotating ring (Figure 2) counterclockwise until it stops. Then pull the tab (picture 2) to detach the suction cup from the mirror.4. For storage, cover the suction cup with saran wrap (Fig. 3) or a plastic bag to prevent dust from sticking to the suction cup (dust reduces suction power). I remove the mirror and put it away when I'm done using it, so I don't know how long it will stay attached to the mirror surface before the suction stops. It's probably best to take it apart and store it between uses. If you're leaving it attached to a mirror, it's probably a good idea to do a test with enough padding (so the vanity doesn't break if suction fails) under the vanity mirror to see how long the suction lasts before it fails and the Make-up mirror falls onto the worktop. Once you are certain that the mirror will be stuck for an extended period of time, it is probably a good idea to remove and reinstall the vanity mirror from time to time and clean the primary mirror glass before reinstalling.
