Review on Enhance your VR Experience with the Wireless HTC Vive Adapter for Vive Pro/Cosmos Series - Connect to PC Wirelessly! by Brian Fisher

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great performance but very expensive.

I was a bit worried the adapter would be heavy and bulky when it arrived but once installed it balances well on the headset. Let's talk about it. The installation wasn't what I would call an "easy" task. It had helpful instructions, but to be honest, connecting the $350.00 wireless adapter to the $700.00 headset (which you had to disassemble first) was a little more complicated than the product description would let on . Additionally, I don't think most average VR consumers like opening up the inside of their PC to pop a card into a PCIE slot. The caveat to the last part is that it really wasn't that hard to find and paste, but I know enough about my computer to know where it is already. ONE BIG FAILURE of the adapter is by and large the BATTERY! A full charge takes a long time, even with the Q3 Adaptive Charger, and the battery discharges quickly. I understand why as the headset requires a lot of power to operate but after 10 hours of charging I was expecting just over 2-3 hours of playtime. I bought it to unravel when I use VR for flight sims and the game is so hard and time consuming that the battery just doesn't last. The last downside I can highlight is the price. I know quality comes at a price, but you can get a brand new wireless headset that doesn't require a PC at all for $50 less than what you would pay ONLY for an HTC wireless adapter. Your customers have already shown loyalty by paying for a VERY expensive headset. I mean, the free 1-month VIVEPORT subscription that came with the adapter was really just a slap in the face. The headset was twice the price and came with a 6-month subscription. NOW IT IS OK! The performance of the adapter is amazing. It was only delayed a couple of times (which I blame on my computer, not the adapter). It has a good range and when I use the VIVE wireless program it takes about 30 seconds from the moment I turn it on until I can start the game. I don't mind paying for quality and the device works as advertised but the price is annoying and I can say that if something happens when I need another I probably wouldn't want to pay that much again.
