Review on πŸ–±οΈ Enhance Efficiency with Kensington Pro Fit Ergo Vertical Wireless Trackball (K75326WW) by Chad Aguirre

Not suitable for large hands

Just got the Kensington Pro Fit Ergo Received Vertical Wireless Trackball and using it for a few hours I wanted to give my first review. This rating is subject to change with continued use and I will ensure that any updates are provided. I've used the Logitech M570 (the mouse with the blue trackball in the photos) for years and enjoy it, but was looking for something a little more up to date. Before the Kensington Pro Fit Ergo vertical wireless trackball, I tried the ELECOM M-HT1DRBK (aka Elecom Huge). As a man (my wife could argue I'm more of a grown boy) with large hands (8.25 inches/21 cm from the tip of my middle finger to the back of my hand) I found the location of the Elecom Huge Button very uncomfortable and also realized that I prefer the thumb trackball, not the Elecom finger trackball. So I sent it back and reverted to the reliable Logitech M570. While browsing R/ Trackballs one day, I saw that Kensington was releasing a vertical thumb rest trackball and knew I had to buy it as soon as it became available. available from Revain. I thought this was my trackball endgame. At this point I no longer feel that this is true. When I opened up the Pro Fit Ergo, I noticed that it was a bit shorter and a bit wobbly (big hands, remember). When I placed the base of the mouse in my palm, my fears were confirmed. If you look at Photo 6, you can see that my fingers hang well over the button and trackball when the mouse is in my hand. When I move my hand back to fit my fingers (see photo 7) my palm is now resting on the table and is not in the most comfortable position. This does not apply to the M570, which feels good in my hand. Apart from the size of the device, I really like it. The trackball feels smooth and the left and right buttons make a nice, audible click (similar to the M570, which I probably like after years of use). However, other keys don't make much, if any, noise. The ability to either connect the device to a USB receiver (which provides some storage under the mouse when not in use) or pair it with two different Bluetooth devices is a handy feature for those who use their mouse for more than one device use . Kensington also claims a battery life of up to 18 months, but we'll see what happens! large hand will be convenient to use for a long time.

Pros
  • Easy to use - uses the same left click, right click and scroll wheel controls as a traditional mouse but offers the benefits of a trackball with a simple thumb swipe
Cons
  • No insurance
