I bought this first because we had painted our foyer a dark color and we were walking down the stairs in the hallway with no light and couldn't see the steps. Bought 1 to try between my 4 year old's room and bathroom. So if she ran into the bathroom late at night, it would turn on when motion was detected (4 year old doesn't understand you need to turn on the light). on and off again). I liked one so much I bought 4 more for two steps each down the dark steps. I love her! The bronze base matches our bronze lights that we installed on the ceiling. The light is a bit dim but does the job and looks stylish. I like that it turns itself off after 15 seconds. My 11 year old has already requested one for his room so we will be buying more. Excellent purchase. They haven't been used long enough to require a battery change, so I'll update my post once I know this information.
