Review on 🎧 Audio-Technica ATH-WS660BTGBL Solid Bass Bluetooth Over-Ear Headphones with Mic & Control, Gunmetal/Blue – Wireless by John Hall

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Crystal clear, unaltered sound. Beats and Bose lovers will find it flat.

First, the sound quality takes time to improve. The break time is at least 10 hours and the improvement in the first 10 hours is incredible. If you're used to the psychoacoustically modulated sound of Beats or Bose headphones, these phones aren't for you. These headphones are not "balanced" to sound great. They just reproduce the sound, exceptionally well. I find them incredible for watching movies and videos. The explosions work and the dialogue is crystal clear. However, when I listen to music, the experience is different. Since the audio isn't altered, if you feed these phones junk quality music, you're going to end up with junk sound. Poor, low-quality input is one area where Beats and Bose headphones help a little. With the WS660BT you need to play high quality music to get quality sound. These are no-frills headphones designed for the more experienced audio enthusiast looking for Bluetooth capabilities at a mid-range price point. Bluetooth's loss of compression is obvious and there's really no need for higher quality phones unless you want to connect. However, if you're running low on battery or looking for higher quality playback, these phones conveniently come with a standard headphone cable. For the Beats and Bose folks, they're going to sound flat. Different strokes for different people. plan accordingly.
