Stylish, compact and efficient

I was looking for an alternative to swap wireless keyboard keys between my Windows desktop and my Macbook Pro which is mainly configured in desktop configuration. Additional ports provide future expansion options. The quad port USB switch is well designed and well built. It has the same form factor as a regular USB hub and has an attractive glossy black finish. The included hub-to-host cables (male, USB-A male) are high quality and long enough (6ft) to easily connect to both computers. What I like and others may not like is that reading computer position 1 and 2 is easy to read - the blue LEDs are low power consumption - contrary to the usual trend of products with uncomfortably bright LEDs. Both of my machines are running MacOS X 10.11 and Windows 7. When switching host machines, the operating system setup time is between 5 and 20 seconds. The switcher can be powered by a 5V auxiliary input via the micro USB input (cable not included). For my low power application the 5V input is not needed.

Pros
  • a practical item
Cons
  • Almost everything there
