Review on πŸ‘Ÿ ASICS Gel-Contend 5 Men's Running Shoes by Kenneth Foster

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I wanted to like them but the upper hurts my ankle

I've been wearing the same pair of Asics Gel Nimbus shoes (no longer available) for walking and everyday use since 2011. rot!) I love them. They're still incredibly comfortable for long distances and fit perfectly even though I have a high arch and slightly wide (E) foot. Few. They're not as comfortable and soft as the Gel Nimbus, but they look attractive and can make a good walking shoe. Unfortunately, the shaft of the shoe is higher than I'm used to. (Other reviewers have also noted this.) On my left foot, this isn't an issue. On the right side, however, the shaft rubs just below the ankle, which is very uncomfortable. Accordingly, I returned them. A note on width: I've read some reviews that complained about how Asics shoes seem to have gotten over the past few years. However, compared to the pair I still wear from 2012, the Contend 5 is a bit narrower, but still quite comfortable for my slightly wide (E) feet. Order half a size larger than what you usually wear. I'm disappointed but will have to look for another Asics model to buy.
