Review on πŸ”§ Shankly Oil Pressure Gauge Compression Tester - Complete Mechanical Engine Compression Testing Kit by Daniel Mandal

The gauge read PSI correctly but oil was leaking from the hose connection

On my 2007 Chevy Suburban, 5.3L Flex Fuel, my oil pressure gauge was showing very strange and erratic readings, sometimes 0psi and sometimes 80 psi. I wanted to make sure I didn't have any problems with the oil pump, so I hooked up this sensor. Because the sensor was in an awkward spot (I needed a special Lisle 13250 head to remove it) it took about 15-20 minutes to remove the old sensor and install this mechanical sensor. The mechanical pressure gauge read normal and clearly identified my problem. However, the gauge was slowly dripping out from under the connection between the rubber hose and the top of the gauge itself. This was just a minor annoyance for me, but I'm afraid that a pressure gauge of this quality could completely separate from the hose, causing oil splatter, loss of pressure and engine damage. For this reason I sent the pressure gauge back to Amazon. I don't recommend this one - spend a little more and get a better sensor.
