I bought this radio at a price you'd think is feature packed. Turns out my old RadioShack digital scanner can do more than this thing. If you don't know how to operate a wireless scanner and you're just starting out, this works fine, but for advanced users, even with the extreme package, this thing lacks a lot of good features. I was hoping it would have a fiery tone and some other good qualities, but they weren't included. For me as an advanced user this was a big waste of money and the sound quality isn't the best. Sounds harsh and of poor quality. If Uniden could make a good scanner with lots of features I would pay more for it! 2020 Update: After using this for a little over a year, I've really played around with it a lot. As mentioned, I want something different. I ended up buying a Uniden BCD436HP. It has some features that I really like. I have found that the factory batteries are completely dead after light use. Online forums say don't even try to charge the batteries in the scanner, some of them can get very hot. My general opinion on this scanner is if you are a beginner this is a good scanner, if you are more advanced it's not that bad. But for the money I expected more, especially from Uniden.
