This is a very beautiful ceramic hair curler. I've never had one, but the barber used a different brand of ceramic curlers on my hair. Anyway, PHOEBE has an easy-to-read LCD screen that shows you what temperature you've set. Three simple buttons: 1. ON/OFF, 2. TEMPERATURE INCREASE or 3. TEMPERATURE DOWN. My hair is medium thick and shoulder length, responds well and works quickly. I can control the temperature so I don't burn my hair. Hair stays soft and not over-dried like metal curling irons. I think it was a good deal.
