Despite the reviews I really didn't expect much from this as I usually have to use 2 duvets (of similar material) to keep me a little warm when I'm not in bed and even then i did the whole thing again you have to use a heater. However, within a minute or two of putting it on, I felt noticeably warmer, so much so that my hands and nose were warm. It's rare for me in the winter. I was concerned about not being able to close the duvet at the back (because it has sleeves I think of it more like a bathrobe) but once I sat down it wasn't a problem. The heating effect was so noticeable that I was able to turn off the heating. It's not something you want to wear walking around the house. Rather for sitting or lying down and for these two "actions" this blanket deserves more than 5 stars.
