This line surprised me because I didn't pay enough attention to the description of the construction material. These are not fabric like many leashes of this design. But, WOW!, that's a huge improvement over cloth leashes. This one is waterproof which means it won't smell if it gets wet, nor will it rot like other leashes I've had. There is a description, but I can say that I have a strong 100 lb German Shepherd (that broke the old leash and had to replace it) and I can argue with her about this leash. There is a lot of line to collect but like any 30ft line. I chose blue, it's very light but beautiful. The only thing I can think of would be an improvement if the leash was reflective. But I can't / won't call for it. This is a very good product.
