***Update I have contacted Kitty City regarding our scratching post as Amazon's return period has expired. Kitty City was quick to respond and went out of their way to help with our issue. After emailing some basic information, they volunteered to send a new scratching post to replace the broken one. It was a pleasure to work with a company that cares about customer service and not just sending a ready-made answer or making you jump through hoops. I am updating my rating to 4 stars to reflect the excellent customer service. If our new scratching post lasts 6-8 weeks without hesitation, I'll be happy to upgrade it to 5 stars. *** We ordered this scratching post because we have a large breed kitten and this scratching post is nice, tall and a bit wider. than some other high positions available. Also, we liked that it had a perch at the top that she could use. It arrived 6 weeks ago with some damage and a few scratches and scuffs on the base coat. We were willing to ignore it because we figured it was going to have scratches from our kitty anytime soon anyway and we could lean the damage part against the wall. We settled in straight away. It was very easy to put together and seemed very sturdy for our 6.5 pound ragdoll kitten. Within the first week I noticed posture swaying while climbing. I figured it just needed a bit of tightening, but all the screws were tight. Our kitty loves the mail. This is her favorite spot to scratch since we got it. The texture of woven sisal is very attractive to her, and she liked to climb upstairs to get a better view out the window. I gave it 2 stars for that, but unfortunately we had a very poor quality. This morning while itching and climbing, the pillar broke off the base! Glad we were there when it happened because she immediately tried to climb into the pipe and there were a lot of sharp clips sticking out. Luckily she hasn't hurt herself but she's not even big yet and this thing only lasted 6 weeks of normal kitten use. She loved it so much I would have easily given it 5 stars had it been solid and lasted a long time.
