I bought this because it had a USB option. I used to have the same thing, but it only worked on batteries, not an outlet. Unfortunately, the on/off switch is used. The flashlight still needs batteries. In other words, when connected via USB, it is impossible to turn off the device without disconnecting it. The brightness of the light is much weaker with batteries. I only use it to let my family know when I shouldn't be disturbed (work from home) so it's not on all the time or even too often. However, I had to change the batteries several times. Not worth the battery cost.
