A cat loves a not
I have two cats. One of them is older and likes to shred the carpet and I can't get my older cat to stop. My younger cat loves these scratching posts and uses them several times a day. My younger cat runs to them to fix her claws. The only downside to this is that the cat pulls on the material, leaving a bit of a mess, but I'd rather pick up some cardboard than my tattered rug.
