What a relief to find something that works!

I waited over a month before deciding to write my review. First off, I haven't had any of the issues that some others have mentioned regarding the need for gradual adjustment to my new Backjoy. While I can't honestly say that all the pain went away right away, I can say it was instant relief from my worst pain. I mostly use my Backjoy in the car where I have long commutes to and from work. I tried other cushions and seats but they all felt too thick because they changed the height of my seat. No matter how hard I tried to adjust my car seat to accommodate the new pillow, I couldn't get the correct angle of rotation back. I was very happy that the Backjoy was so thin that it didn't noticeably change the height of my car seat. Also before Backjoy, I found that my tailbone hurt a lot when driving or driving a car. The more it hurt, the more I squirmed and tried to release the pressure, which caused even more pain. I got caught in a vicious circle; one that Backjoy happily broke in a few days. I will add that it took me some time to figure out how to sit in my new Backjoy. When I first sat in it, I felt unsafe as it rocked. That's when I realized I was sitting in the wrong place and that it had to be pulled forward to cover and firmly support the back of each cheek. Once in the right position I was extremely stable and, I might add, very comfortable. The guide that comes with the Backjoy is very helpful in explaining how to set it up in the correct position. But it's worth taking a little time to work with until you're comfortable with it. Once you get into that "right position," you'll know. Your whole body will tell you. I didn't take my Backjoy on a long flight, but today I took him to church and sanctuary. While I would say the Backjoy is very lightweight and easy to carry, I wouldn't say it's discreet and easy to hide. It doesn't fold in any way, so it should fit in a fairly large bag. However, I just grabbed it out of my car seat by the handle and carried it straight in. Several people asked me about it at church, and two even borrowed it to try it out for themselves; one even took it into the car. Both said they would go home and order one right away. I told them their backs would be grateful if they did. For the first time I could sit and listen to the service without pain. From now on he accompanies me every Sunday. The only place where Backjoy doesn't help me much is when I'm sitting in a crowded chair, such as at the desk. B. a thick armchair or a couch. Then, I think, Backjoy just sinks into the filling and loses its effect. However, since I've had Backjoy and been using it regularly, my back doesn't hurt as much, so spending time in those softer chairs doesn't bother me like it used to. Before ordering I hesitated which Backjoy to order. I've been arguing for days about getting Posture Plus or the slightly more expensive Backjoy, a seated smart relief with memory foam. I went for the slightly cheaper Posture Plus without memory foam and I'm glad I did. This backjoy is made out of what looks like crock shoes. It is a hard rubber material that has been shaped in a unique way. That being said, this one doesn't tear or wear out easily and slides easily into place to make sure I'm in the right place, but it's rubbery enough to stay where I put it. I'm afraid if I buy memory foam, the foam will quickly wear off and become ineffective, it will thicken, robbing me of the delicacy I wanted to ride, and the material may eventually tear. I don't regret my decision. If my Backjoy gets dirty, I can just wipe it down or wash it with water and I'm good to go. I hope you also decide to treat yourself or a loved one to their very own Backjoy. If you have back problems, you will thank yourself too. Update: It is now 2018 and it has been 4 years since I wrote the first Backjoy seat cushion review. When I re-read what I wrote 4 years ago, I still totally agree with everything I wrote before. I use my place every day. I've used it in the car, on the plane, at church services, doctor's offices, restaurants. Wherever I have to sit. This seat is with me everywhere. I was right when I said the rubber that makes up this thing is virtually indestructible. There was a time when it was thrown into water and mud; simple, I poured it immediately. My husband called it my tractor seat. I see him more as my black shadow. Thank you Backjoy for creating such an amazing, useful and life changing product! Update: It's almost the end of 2020 and my Backjoy still looks like I bought it. Because it's a tough, gummy shape, I can easily remove it from the tube when needed. I love it so much I now have two of these! My only problem I have with this is remembering not to leave it anywhere. Because I have no problem not sitting down, I got up several times and wanted to leave. I almost forgot it on the plane a few times.
