Good leggings for orienteering, but don't thread the laces through the grommets

I bought these leggings for fast orienteering. I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 160 pounds. Slim by American standards; runner physique. I tried the medium ones first, they were too tight and a half inch shorter. The large size fits me well (surprisingly a bit tight considering my skinny legs). I wore them to 6 races. My races are 3-5 miles over all types of wooded, thorny, and rocky Midwest terrain. The front is made of durable nylon and will hold up very well. They protected my skin from a few bumps on logs, scrapes on rocks, and the occasional old wire fence. I still get bruises from hard hits, but my clothes and skin are not torn. I had no sticky/thorny plants on the nylon front. The back of the leggings is made of spandex. It's not that durable, but it breathes well. The spandex has scratches and tears and is picking up some sticky/thorny plants. The flash didn't bother me; I recommend zipping up about an inch before putting your leggings on. First let me thank Moxie Gear and Revain for providing this product. These leggings are hard to find in the US. And great to have them in stock via Prime Shipping. The only downside to this product is the two tabs on the bottom. They can be used to thread the laces to keep the gaiters in place. But on the first sock I got, the eyelets had already come loose from the nylon. Revain/Moxie took the return and sent me new ones. I tied the laces through the grommets for a race and ended up with one of the grommets half torn out of the nylon. As a result, I no longer tie my shoelaces through the eyelets. I also wear Moxie Ankle Gaiters to keep dirt off my shoes.
