First of all this product is really well made. The parts grip perfectly in the Duplo. They are just the right height and width to fit almost all Duplo items, so you can let your creativity run free and combine your Duplo swing with a Hubelino starter block or use a Duplo children's slide with blocks. They're definitely designed to "system" standards, which is Lego's terminology for interoperability. Even the colors match. In fact, I almost wish the colors didn't match perfectly, because it can be difficult to pick out the Hubelino blocks from your huge Duplo set. Also, I FINALLY found a use for millions of otherwise useless Duplo 2x2 blocks. This set is great because it comes with everything you need (including marbles) to turn your existing Duplo hideout into a Hubelino marble maze. You will also need: (1) a LARGE baseplate and maybe some large 6x8 dots (2) lots of duplo 2x2 blocks which you probably already have, (3) lots of 2x4 PANELS as some of them need to be blocked with panels. align properly. If you already have double-height 2x2 blocks, you will use those as well. It was all SUPER cool! EXCEPT that designing a marble maze is INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT. My wife and I put together an "example" for kids (5 year old and 3 year old) on Christmas day and it took us probably 5 hours to put it together. This is VERY difficult for small children who normally use Duplo. I usually make large adult Technic kits and it was just as good putting things together. It's not Duplo's "next step". This could be the "next step" from a full Lego (not a Creator). I'd say it's best for kids ages 7 and up or maybe even older. It is too difficult to build for small children. The reason this is difficult is because (1) you have to get enough height for them to work (2) you have to nail everything down really well to make the track smooth, which requires some care. development and (3) it takes a lot of forward planning to make something cool. To be honest my wife and I have been AMAZING playing with it and giving the kids "examples"; but children don't play with them at all because they are too difficult to assemble. So I have to say 4 stars because this set is really freaking cool and the quality is great. Also the seller was amazing. But I have to deduct a star because I don't think it's really good for small children, especially for children of Duplo age. It is more suitable for older children (or even adults). A solid 5-star product in terms of product quality and performance, but unfortunately not suitable for Duplo fans.
