Given that there's a pen holder on the side, I'm guessing it was originally intended for portable laptops - it's the perfect size. However, I used it on my Samsung Galaxy S9+ and it was fantastic as the phone is too big to fit comfortably in my pocket. When I bought it, I noticed that there is a sown spot for threading the belt, and not just a metal hook. When I got it, I found that there are actually two places for your belt to go through, allowing you to position it vertically or horizontally on your hip. The metal clip is also very strong, and the ring allows you to clip it to things if you want, or clip things to it I suppose. or maybe have a safety line if you only use one clamp? Anyway, I've been wearing it for over a month now and I'm very happy with the build quality and design.
