Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like it. BUT I wish it was safer/healthier.

For the last 8 years I've been zapping back and forth trying to find the perfect foundation. but I keep coming back to it. For me there is simply nothing better. When I first started using this product I had a fairly severe case of psoriasis on my face. I had dry skin that looked like burns and lots of tiny irritated pimples. I was also very active and didn't want anything to clog my pores. I was able to completely cover up all of these issues by applying a thicker foundation to these areas. My dry skin didn't feel flaky like many liquid foundations and powders. Sometimes I could fall asleep with him and not have to worry about my condition getting worse. This product feels fantastic. I wear a lot of black clothes and suits. With other products, I've often rubbed my face and then my clothes and it left a skin-colored streak. Not to mention my hand feels like it needs washing. I don't think this product is bad at all. There may be a little rubbing, but it won't be greasy and my hand looks clean after touching my face. This product comes without makeup sponge. I suggest getting one that's stretchier and less see-through for the best coverage. I always try to be careful when using anything with harsh chemicals. I tested this foundation on the Environmental Working Group - Skin Deep website and found that it scored a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 for harsh chemicals (with 10 being the worst). The worst chemical here is retinol (synthetic vitamin A. This chemical scores a 9 out of 10! "Restrictions on use, developmental/reproductive system toxicity, biochemical or cellular changes, cancer, organ system toxicity (non-reproductive)). It's bad for you if you overeat, especially if you're pregnant. Keep this in mind as you try to only use foods that are good for you. Don't think things are good for you just because they say PUR Minerals. As for me, I probably won't wear anything when I'm pregnant because everything is bad for you these days. I haven't found a healthier product on the market that gives me what I want. If I find one, I'll make the switch. I would like to ask PUR Minerals to investigate the chemicals they use and try to find alternative, healthier ways to achieve the same look and feel that we expect them to. It seems to me that they are targeting their market at women who love organic natural cosmetics, but they contain those unnecessary harsh chemicals like retinol. I would be a lifelong customer if they changed their recipes to make their products healthier.

Pros
  • Great Overall Achievement
Cons
  • Doubtful
