I'm a 7th grade science teacher and plan on using it every day this school year. I set up in less than 5 minutes. The included CD downloads the software to get it up and running in just a minute by placing an icon on your desktop. Images are crystal clear and sharp, and can stretch a single line of text to almost the entire screen. doesn't show the whole page without raising the camera, but I think it would be more useful because it would allow me to focus on only part of the text. As others have pointed out, the autofocus "sneaks" in and out of focus all the time, but it can be turned off. It does everything I would use ELMO for, but at a fraction of the cost. Worth 5 stars. Edit, two months later: I love this document reader! I use it every day in my class now, sometimes all day. However, I found the LED backlight useless. All it does is a glaring glow. The camera is sensitive enough to show a clear image when the lights are off in my classroom and the only light comes from the distant windows. The camera is attached to the stand with friction and I can see that it will eventually come loose. The camera sometimes detaches when I try to adjust it. I wrote this doc reader into my improvement plan for this year and use it for all my phone calls and chapter reviews.
