I bought this for an anemometer and it works pretty well. I'm an avid kiteboarder so when wearing this watch while kitesurfing I can expect a few drops and drops in the water. As a result, water got into the watch and the next day it stopped working. So if you are planning on wearing this watch in the water for water sports other than sailing I would not recommend this watch. With these watches, it is very difficult to tell the time at a glance. The digital backlight is not bright enough.
