I bought them for a trip to the beach but I also wear them to the lake and to the garden. I was surprised how excellent the grip is with them. If they get dirty, take out the soles, hose them down and hang them outside to dry. The only complaint is that I'm not happy with how high the tongue of the shoe rises. It's like that t-shirt ad when they said your shirt had a flab collar.
