Really like these lightbulbs. I used 5 out of 10 bulbs and 3 out of 10 remotes. I had no problems with the unpackaged ones. Incandescent bulbs are similar in brightness (at their highest setting) to a 50-watt incandescent bulb and dim quite a bit - we use the lowest setting of blue or purple as the living room night light. Remote controls are universal; and I tested them from about 25 feet away and the bulbs respond. They respond even under heavy fabric lampshades! My husband and I suffer from insomnia, so we turn the lightbulbs down to their lowest setting (much cheaper and more convenient than replacing all the outlets with dimmers!) to a soothing color to help unwind before bed. For the price you really can't beat it. I think they would be great in a child's room or even a dorm room and also as a fun way to add color to a party. I recommend them 100%!
