Doesn't work with DCC50S

Doesn't work with DCC50S DC-DC charger. I found the same problem mentioned on internet forums. Tried both apps. Renogy BT connects but never enters data (serial number etc.) after connection. When you return to the monitoring screen, nothing is displayed. In the Renogy DC Home app it connects, but once you get to the screen you'll have to choose the type of device it's connected to (controller, battery, solar, or DC-DC), whichever device you choose to connect it to says that no device is connected to BT-2. Obviously this is impossible as BT-2 will not turn on without connection. In all cases, the blue light on the BT-2 will flash to indicate connection. In a forum post I found someone who had some success by unplugging the BT-2, plugging the car into power, then plugging in the batteries and finally the BT-2. It didn't work for me, but even if it did, it wouldn't be acceptable in my use case; Due to the way my rig is wired/physically placed, I MUST connect the batteries last. Low support score due to difficulty launching a ticket with Renogy. After all, it's a luxury and not worth the hassle for me. I'll just keep using my voltmeters and gauges on the front of the DCC50S.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models
