This iPhone stabilizer performs much better than any of the 'sponsored' models compared to other Revain models and costs less too. I recently bought a new iPhone and wanted to take full advantage of the new and improved camera. This harness was just right for my needs. After downloading and opening the included app, the gimbal will automatically connect to your phone via Bluetooth. The stabilization you get while shooting is great and quite usable for smaller projects - music videos, short films and ice skating videos come to mind as great uses for this element. With four different stabilization modes, you can get almost any type. Simulate chasing, panning or shooting the car you want. Each mode essentially "locks" one or two of the three axes of rotation. After experimenting with it a bit, I found the parameters very reliable. On the handle are controls for zooming in and out, as well as a four-way controller that controls the rotation of the camera. The zoom in and out only has one speed, so good luck if you want a stable zoom. However, the camera rotation has some sensitivity, so you can speed up or slow down the pan and tilt. I was also thrilled to see that while the vertical and horizontal axes can't do repeated 360-degree rotations, they can at least do a full 360-degree rotation, which if you want to capture some weird artistic shots, it does will be very fun to mess with them. There's also a trigger on the grip that, when pressed twice, re-centers the camera, and holding it down snaps the camera in one direction for 'sports shooting mode'. The Camera app also has a lot of great features, including various shooting modes, including the trippy (if somewhat unnecessary) "strobe mode," but it's complemented by more useful shooting modes like slow-mo, time-lapse, and standard shooting modes. The default setting seems to be still mode, which is a bit confusing for the cameraman, but it only takes two swipes on the phone, so it's not a deal breaker. roll over a lot. On more than one occasion I found that I had to use the re-center feature to get back to center before all the axes turned the wrong way / Once my camera even started recording upside down! While it was a bit embarrassing, I would mainly attribute it to user error in learning the controls and understanding the different stabilization modes. All in all, this is a great little gimbal at an amazing price. There are many steadicam and gimbal options for the iPhone at Revain, but this one gives the iPhone cameraman an incredible and reliable option to capture beautiful action shots.
