Newbie LED Strip Project

I rarely post reviews but this is my first time using LED strips so I thought I could share a little with other newbies. I started out with HOME DEPOT and their selection was terrible. Also, no one was able to answer some of my basic questions about cutting strips etc. This was the best part of my Litever purchase. They were quick to answer my questions and let me know what worked and what didn't (or could burn my house down). (Figure 2) I modified the LEDs with jumpers (22 gauge wire and no solder terminals) because I was told that adding more LED strings to the same circuit was not acceptable. With their help and wire and clamps I was able to maximize the lighting set and I think the project was a success. (Full Disclosure: They said my plan would most likely work, but the silicone could be the problem, and also suggested leaving the lightstrip intact. That's not an option for this particular project.) The silicone sleeve adds strength and makes the Easier to secure strips than just using an ultra-thin strip. I had to cut out a small part with small nail scissors (see photo #3) so I could use an 8mm clip. The jumper worked great and also gave me some flexibility when combined with 22 gauge wire cut to the length I needed. I suggest you buy a dimmer as well. As others have said, avoid using glue. For my part, I've moved the light an inch or two to one side or the other on numerous occasions, and if I were to stick on a strip, those adjustments would be impossible, let alone ripping off a crown molding or stain on a bookshelf. Overall I am happy with my purchase but really appreciate the help from the Litever customer support team.
