I love macro photography and one of my hobbies is spiders. Good bright light allows you to see spiders' glow-in-the-dark eyes, and this light is great for spotting them from afar. I found this cute blonde tarantula in a hole and put this lantern next to its hole. This attracted several flying insects, forcing them to go out for lunch. It's bright enough to easily focus a macro lens in the middle of the night. Haven't used the color features yet but will later when it gets colder and the spiders and other bugs are gone. I showed the colors at a photography club meeting and everyone was impressed by the vibrancy and versatility. I've had it for a week and only had to charge it once. It seems to have really good battery life. Before buying this one I looked at several similar lights and am glad I bought this one. It is well made and the controls are easy to use. The hot shoe mount unscrews leaving a 1/4" 20 thread for mounting on a tripod or lighting stand. You can then easily attach the magnetic back to any ferrous metal surface. The options are great!
