Review on Epson Transparency Adapter 10000XL B12B813362 by Adam Matthews

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is fantastic value for film and slide scanning.

Another reviewer said that there is a blurry film image. That's not my experience at all. You can also load up to 30 slides or 48 35mm negatives at a time. (You can also load a small selection of other films and use them to scan other films.) Obviously the 10000xl has a maximum optical resolution of 2400 dpi, so you get about 7 megapixel images from slides and negatives. Mine were great. I scanned my own negatives and my father's and someone else's negatives and slides and everything was amazing. I don't know if I will use this scanner for my professional films because I need more resolution. For professional films I would go for the Epson Perfection V700, v750, v800 or v850, which produces images up to 6400 dpi and can also support wet editing. Despite all this, this transmitted light adapter for my 10000xl was a real attraction. All images were very clear and sharp. However, you cannot scan above the optical resolution of 2400 dpi. My opinion is that there is no need for more than 2400x35mm and slides unless they are shot on professional equipment and are not professional film. I didn't buy mine from Revain. But I already had a scanner and just added a transparent block to it. 35mm and slides require more than 2400 unless filmed professionally and is professional film. I didn't buy mine from Revain.
