Great but with a small design flaw

This is an excellent belt for everyday wear or light loads. As a background, I use this belt daily to carry my duty holster, 15-round pistol magazine, and 30-round AR15 magazine. Fits: This belt is quite wide, so I would only use it with some brands of tactical pants or jeans. I have a 32 in my waist and the other belts I ordered ended in a short ponytail. Although a medium size would have been perfect, I ordered a large just in case. The belt ended in a tail about nine inches long with my holster and two magazine pouches. In the end I removed the velcro on both sides and shortened the tail. Even with daily use and heavy training, the strap held my gear without loosening. If you order one size up and need to trim it down, don't worry about it being too loose. Durability: This belt has withstood daily use very well. As I suspected, the buckle surface wasn't really "scratch proof". On the first day the finish began to wear off and continued to age. Removing the velcro stitching did not affect the construction of the belt as the stitching was not used to join the two layers of nylon like I have seen on others. The only thing that bothers me about this belt is where the double layer of nylon starts. It creates quite a thick shelf and snags on loops and material when you pull it through items. I took extra care to thread it through the holster to avoid tearing at the seams, causing the two layers to separate. If you need to trim the tail, the material won't melt cleanly. To prevent fraying, I applied a thin layer of superglue to the end to hold all the nylon together. Utility/Comfort: I can handle a decent amount of weight with this belt. It's fairly stiff and holds weight evenly without sagging. While stiff, it's not like a scuba harness that's so stiff it digs into you when you sit. I wear a flak jacket on duty and when I'm seated the holster puts pressure on the belt, but it doesn't cause the belt to dig into my thighs like other gun belts I've tried. If you are looking for an EDC or a lightweight belt I would recommend this one. It's comfortable while providing excellent support for your gear.
