I used them to light my kitchen worktop. I had a few electric ones but they weren't hardwired and I had wires all over them. It was a disaster. So I have it. My husband drilled a hole in the top of each. We then simply screwed this part (which contains the batteries) under the cabinet, which made installation (and/or battery changes) easy as you only had to attach the bottom part (cover) and you're done! so excited. You only need one controller and it includes everything. Since I have them in different zones of the kitchen, sometimes I have to point the control knob at different zones and also turn it off, but it doesn't matter at all. and since I have two sets of 4 (and have a remote for each light - each has a battery) I plan to use the controllers for a long time as you only need one to control them all and I have 7 left! So I don't turn on the light for a long time, so I can't speak to the device's AAA battery life (each takes three), but I love them for what I bought them for. (ps. Since we drilled holes in each one they couldn't be more submersible, but I didn't buy them anyway for that reason, so I'm fine!)
