I bought this so I could have a more secure stand for my iPad for FaceTime when I'm sitting at my desk and working on my laptop and using my iPad Pro more often instead of my laptop. I used to just hold it in the corner of the bin, but every now and then a little vibration or table movement would cause the iPad to slip out of its sketchy spot and fall on its back. The gray color does not match the iPad Pro Space Gray. It looks more like metallic blue than gray. When you first unbox this stand, it looks like it's overkill. If my iPad case with a lid that doubles as a built-in stand can support my iPad, that should be more than enough. The stand appears to be all metal apart from four foam feet on the bottom and foam protecting the device around the edge. The hinge is very solid, but the stand still wobbles a bit when interacting with my iPad Pro's 11-inch screen, which I have to admit is a bit disappointing. This doesn't happen when I use my iPhone XS. Then add a color that isn't what I expected and it looks like I'll end up with either a black or silver back. I'll be keeping it for a few days to see if the added functionality to my life outweighs the minor frustrations.
