I bought these hangers because the people in my family are 5 to 6 feet tall and I need hangers that will keep EVERYONE close without dropping them. My first try was velvet hangers, which are difficult to put on and sometimes even harder to take off. While all clothes fit on velvet hangers and won't fall off, we hate them all. We wear a lot of dark colors and have cats. So if you drop a velvet hanger on the floor between vacuuming, cat hair and dust will stick to it and then get onto your clothes. I work full time and don't always have time to sweep everything, especially the linens and closets, so I don't need hangers where lint, dust, and hair fall on clothes. Velvet but I think they could be stronger. They hold clothes on, don't fall off. Easy to hang clothes on hangers and take them off again. They will never pick up dust or cat hair if you drop them. They are big enough for husband and son's broad-shouldered shirts, big and strong enough to carry their heaviest garments without bending. They are also good for my much smaller clothes. I received my first package seven months ago and am receiving another today. I'll keep buying these until I'm rid of all my damn velvet hangers and most of those thick plastic hangers that take up too much closet space.
