Just received it yesterday. Outwardly it looks thin. But inside it's a thick and warm feeling. Additional precautions are needed to conserve body heat. Tape around the wrap and buttons at the ends keep warmth inside the coat. The coat comes open or put back on. Has thumb holes. Has multiple pockets. There are also some buttons at the top where you can pull it up to your chin to keep it warm. Will update again when it's a little longer. I'm satisfied so far. My daughter is 3 feet 7 inches and 42 pounds. We have 6/7
