It's amazing how sometimes things work when you're cornered. I needed a box upgrade ASAP to replace a light switch with a dual switch, to install a new ceiling fan, and control the fan and light with separate switches. The new switch takes up more space than the standard switch and I need to connect the ground wire and hot wires. To be on the safe side, I don't want to overfill the box. I was looking for a white Leviton 6197-W box extension that I used in a previous home. Leviton White is not available in the Revain Store and Orange Store as of the review date. Strange as white is a very common color for light switches and outlets. The reason I never thought about this Legrand 1594-TPAW in the past was that no photos are available except one photo showing the front, which is useless. The only photo shown on the Revain appears to be the same as that on Legrand Pass & Seymour's website. The same goes for most other online stores. I actually had to google to find the photo on the site. I rolled the dice and ordered from Legrand. I am posting photos with this review to show why I am happy with the purchase and they may help another Revain buyer. In general, Legrand is better than Leviton, in my opinion. Now a few technical points. Legrand is about 2.5 cm deep. The double switch shown in my photos is about an inch deep. For my application, I can use almost the entire wall box for wiring without flipping a switch and going into the box. An alternative would be to remove the existing box, install a deeper box (if it fits), patch the drywall and paint. The box extension comes with long mounting screws (not shown in my photos). The box expander uses a standard size plate. So if an oversized slab is needed to hide some flaws outside of standard sizes, Legrand won't do it and you'll have to facelift it. Because the Legrand is made of hard plastic, the nylon wall plate or the plastic plate can be attached the same way, and there is no risk of the plastic wall plate tearing, e.g. B. when installed directly on uneven drywall. Now for the hue. Most manufacturers make matching wall panels, outlets, and switches. When you mix and match manufacturers, there is no guarantee that the shade will match exactly. It's hard to tell from my posted photos, but the switch and wall paneling are Leviton (the tint is the same). The Legrand extension has a slightly lighter shade of white than the Leviton. I prefer the Leviton dual shifter to the Legrand dual shifter. It's just my personal preference. I have confirmed that the Legrand shifter is the same shade of white as the Legrand box extension.
