I really need open toes AND heels, but I decided to try them because my favorite models are only black. The Doc Miller version has a looser fit and weave, a rougher feel and has advertising where I don't want it. But for the price it's ok. I'm short so naturally (in this world where everything is made for the tallest and tallest person who could ever use it) they're too long so I have to work a little to squeeze them evenly. Also, I bought an L even though I'm small because I have fairly large calves (which got enlarged anyway). If I had chosen M, my biggest complaint might have been less: extra fabric around the heel. I wish I could just cut out a small circle to keep the stockings from unraveling. By the way: I wear shoe size 8.5 and weigh 145 kilos.
