Suction Cups DO NOT WORK. I tried cleaning the surface, cleaning the suction cups, warming them up. They get stuck for up to an hour before they loosen and the whole thing collapses. I bought two of these lanterns; one for the front and one for the back of my Ford Explorer. None of their suction cups held up. I finally got the "Jerry Rig" in front of my dashboard with a strong Velcro fastener. However, I couldn't get hold of the one for the rear window, no matter what I did. It also didn't have all the nuts that were supposed to come with it. So I had to send it back. I have to say I like the brightness of the light. I also like that the cord is long enough to reach any lighter. There is also a ridge on one switch so you can tell the difference between the two switches.
