This cotton will make my life easier

Oh I wish I knew about this cotton last year when I made a full size quilt for made me eldest grandson. He doesn't like heavy blankets so I bought the lightest batting I could find. He loves the blanket and likes to snuggle under it, but it's still too heavy for him to sleep under for long. A friend suggested I try this snake and she was right. It makes my life easier in many ways. It's so thin compared to anything I've used, even between the top and bottom fabric (see pics 1 and 2). Batting that I' What I've used in the past tends to be inconsistent in thickness when I'm working with it because it's easy to stretch out of shape without wanting to. The material of this cotton batting is strong and rock solid (see photo 3), making it easy to pin fabric to it without moving the batting or fabric (see photo 4). The thinner bulk of the quilt makes quilting a lot easier for me as I can't use a quilt frame and have to sew the entire quilt on my knees! Since hitting is stable, you can leave up to 20 cm distance. between stitches without worrying about the cotton falling apart over time. I have a small baby blanket. I am making for my next project and with this batting I can sew just around the characters and edges of the quilt and still stay within the recommended 8 inch stitch pattern. For this reason when I have the quilt and the front finished, and the back of the quilt only shows the characters and objects contained in the quilt block and they are recognizable from each side as there is no additional stabilization. seams scattered around, distracting from them.

Pros
  • 100 PERCENT NATURAL: All-weather quilt, durable and lightweight for a warm blanket
Cons
  • Some bugs
