I was looking at several phone holder options for my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and decided on this item after reading the reviews and photos. It was a great purchase! The bracket is made of steel and good plastic, very durable and stable. Perfectly fits iPhone 7, iPhone 6SPlus or Samsung Galaxy 7 with slim case. Assembly was very easy, however due to the high torque it took a few minutes to unscrew the factory bolts. Use a 5/16" wrench with a vise wrench to remove and reinstall the factory bolts. Use a 6mm allen wrench to remove the plastic cover screws. 3 inch extension. The factory screws that hold the handle are very deep in the dash but there is a small hole for them so the 1/2" ratchet is too big unless you fit the 1/4" extension on. This phone holder won't go anywhere even if the jeep is upside down! And the spring arm holding the phone probably even holds the phone upside down! It is very durable and strong. A part of the phone holder is covered with soft foam to avoid damaging your phone. The phone is perfectly positioned near the dashboard but not in line of sight, blocking the view. Jeeps already have a small field of view, and I didn't want the phone to block any field of view. I routed the USB charging cable in the console along the seat under the upholstery and through the storage net to keep it close to the phone holder. Works well. I'll probably tie the charging cable to the phone holder's cradle to keep it in place. I highly recommend this product to all Jeep owners.
