Expensive bracket. I don't like attaching it to the heater vent. If you have a heater or air it blows directly onto the phone (not good for electronics with rapid temperature changes) and the phone blocks the ventilation. On the second day, the small puff handle in my hand broke. Everything the cradle does for your phone detects that it's docked when the cradle touches one of the connectors on the back of your phone's built-in jacks. My previous Moto phone had a mount that you put your phone in and plug it in, charge it and put it on a suction cup or I attached it to the dash. You must connect your phone to this mount to charge from a separate source. You have to remove the back of the phone to reveal the ports (the phone is held in place by magnets) so the back of the phone has to be stored somewhere else it will fall between the seats and you'll have to remember to put it back in. with it the phone is protected from the back. I paid about $65 for this product and it's not worth it. UPDATE -- 01-04-2020 Still use this product, the handle is still broken, you need to tighten the small nut with your fingers or pliers. I have a different car now and the air vent is too far from the driver's seat. I can't use the next ventilation grille because the phone is blocking the controls there. When I replace the phone, I replace the car mount.
