I've had stitches and lost teeth in the past I played basketball, so it's important to me to wear a mouthguard. I also wore jiu-jitsu mouthguards. And my kids wear basketball and soccer hats. I also had a semi-custom Shock Doctor Gel max. I really like this pair because they are soft and comfortable, fit well in my mouth and I don't have to do any custom fitting. I also like that it covers my upper and lower teeth. In addition, breathing in the channel in the middle makes this mouthpiece even more comfortable. The only minor thing to keep in mind when buying this pair is that having both the top and bottom teeth covered makes speaking more difficult. Thumbs up. So far this is my favorite mouthguard and I don't have braces even though it's designed specifically for braces. Also, it goes well with my Shock Doctor case. I bought a new case and it's good too. The old cases weren't that deep, so they didn't match my old shock doctor case from years ago. The new case I ordered with this mouthguard was much deeper and fitted well.
