Review on πŸŽ’ EVERKI Atlas Business Laptop Backpack, Adjustable Compartment for 13-Inch to 17.3-Inch Laptops, Unisex Design, Travel-Friendly (EKP121) by Lisa Bell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

WOW! I was blown away by the quality, design and capacity of this medium sized laptop backpack.

WOW! This is an absolutely fantastic bag. I've never heard of Everki and certainly not an Atlas backpack. However, on a recent flight (as a travel consultant, planes are my second home) I accidentally landed behind a guy with an Everki backpack. As a long time fan of the Arcteryx - sleek, durable backpacks with great styling - I admired the backpack this gentleman carried as it looked every bit as solid as my beloved Arcteryx Blade 24. Fast forward a few months and I find myself in a situation where I have to commute to work with two separate laptops. As much as I love the Arcteryx Blade, it wasn't big enough for two laptops and everything else that went with them. So I quickly searched the internet for a custom made multi computer bag and Everki kept popping up with high reviews. So, with a new journey ahead of me, I decided to take the plunge and try Atlas now. I just received the bag a few days ago. I had high hopes for the Everki (I've seen one in the wild before), but I was blown away by the build quality of the Atlas. This thing is industrial and built to withstand impact. You can just feel the quality of this thing. Its construction utilizes the highest quality materials as well as heavy use of Cordura, parachute material, rivets and durable stitching. The zippers are large, similar to the large zippers used on Ogio bags, and they open and close without the slightest hint of binding. As with my beloved Arcteryx, I couldn't find a single loose stitch or fray, and the attention to detail, fit, and finish is evident from the moment you rock it. I say that because this is not a lightweight bag. It's designed to carry a lot of gear and does so safely. But the real surprise is how well designed this bag is with an incredible amount of pockets and storage. I could fit both a 15" MacBook Pro and my 15" Dell, plus two bags each with power adapters, cables, etc., ALSO my Epson projector AND two O'Reilly reference books. And I still had room for extra power strips, an international power converter, and even my sunglass case. And there is additional free space. I'm a big fan of minimalistic solutions, which is why I liked Arcteryx so much. And despite the Atlas' insane amount of pockets and storage, it's designed so well that it doesn't feel overdone, and it still has an overall minimalist feel, and it still maintains a fairly small profile when everything is zipped up . . . .I spend a lot of time carefully checking the equipment I buy as I like to buy only once. I only buy the highest quality gear I can afford, regardless of price, and have very high expectations for the products I buy. I can unequivocally say that Everky Atlas has far exceeded my expectations in every respect. It is with a bittersweet feeling that I am handing over my Arcteryx Blade 24 to my daughter who also travels a lot for work and from now on I intend to stick with Everki as long as they continue to deliver the highest quality products. Absolute five stars! *** 2nd Trip Update *** So I've taken this bag on 2 trips and have a much better understanding of how well it works with my office-in-bags concept, including working with airlines. The bag is absolutely perfect for traveling with two laptops. Lots of storage space, very well organized and sorted and just easy to use. What I really liked about this bag on these trips are the very wide and well thought-out shoulder straps. I assume my bag weighs over 20 pounds and I found the wide shoulder straps to be absolutely comfortable and perfectly positioned and designed. I also appreciate that the bag is designed to stand on its own which makes loading and unloading very easy. I'm still very excited about this purchase. In addition, this time there are absolutely no problems with the bag - no protruding zippers, no loosening threads, seams or the like. I think I've finally found "The One". I'm giving a six month review just to give you an idea of how the bag will wear out over the long run. I repeat: 5 stars, well deserved.
