Review on πŸ§— Unleash Your Climbing Potential with the PETZL Rocpec Drill: A Premium Climbing Gear Essential by Rick Alexander

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Light and functional.

This is a good, small and light hand drill for climbing and similar purposes. Pros: This is a simple device that is easy to use. Uses non-metric (fractional?) SDS drill bits and you can easily replace them without additional tools. If you want to use metric bits, you need to purchase an adapter from Petzl. Cons: Better for small hands, and the handguard in particular is a bit small (you'll hit your hand eventually). The hammer head shows signs of wear even after moderate use (but that's to be expected). In short, for everyday use, especially when weight matters, this is probably the best drill ever. If weight is not an issue and/or you have large hands, you can pay to get another one. Note: Do not buy expensive Petzl drills. Just buy a decent carbide-tipped insert from the hardware store (about $8) and get started.
