This product is great at keeping my cat from scratching the door and armchair. About a week later I saw her slowly moving towards the sealed surface, but she seemed very hesitant to touch it. After about two weeks she seemed totally uninterested in those spots, so I removed the tape. I think I've been working on weaning them off these surfaces. I've got plenty of scotch left over, so when she starts using it again (or somewhere else) I'll have plenty of stuff to use. The tape is quite sticky so I would try not to touch the areas where you stuck it and it's a little difficult to remove the backing after the product has been placed on the surface but I've found that I rubbed the corner with my fingertips for a minute or so, peeling off the substrate almost always helped. I would recommend it to other cat lovers.
