Is it long and narrow, maybe an inch wide, half an inch thick? There is a "captive" screw on each end - meaning it's already mounted to the bracket. You simply place the bracket where you want it, then screw the screws from the bottom (top? since I installed it light side down?) into the base of the equipment cabinet. Okay, before you do that, remove the cap from the end with the switch and plug the cord into the outlet. Unfortunately, that's how it's supposed to be. I wanted the switch on the other end but it doesn't work. Surprisingly, the kit also comes with two cord holders, so I routed the cord along the bottom of the case, where it's not as easy to see where the outlet is. Very nice touch! Finally the light under my closet is bright and beautiful! Five stars for this lamp!
