I bought this for my nephew's 5th birthday. What I liked about him was that he needed to use his wits and creativity to build it. Limitless possibilities. I was amazed at how quickly he figured out which pieces caught the ball and which ones dropped it into another piece. My sister would like more vertical pink shapes. You should definitely set it up on a hard, flat surface.
