I'm really liking my new bedside clock so far. However, you still get used to using it. There is a slight learning curve that may require you to actually read the instructions. Yes, I'll admit it - as much as I love to read, I hate reading instructions. Still, you should pay attention to them and do it in a way that you can work with them while you're half asleep and not have to think about what you're doing. But seriously, it's not hard. You just have to get used to a few commands. This thing has a lot of neat little handy features. I love that you can light up the outer case to make it work as a night light. You can also choose different colors. Or none at all if you prefer no light. Soft light and not disturbing while sleeping, but useful when you need to get up and move at night. The clock is bright and easy to read, but note that it can be dimmed. At the top of the face is a command to toggle between dark and light. Just look out for this button on the top of the case. This will turn the entire system on or off, although it will still show the correct time. What I don't like is the quality of most of the sounds. Well, I'm not expecting Dolby stereo sound effects, but some of them just sound cheap and annoying while others are ok. My favorite place to hang out is the crickets. Too consistent tweeting, but if you can take your mind off it, it provides just enough sound to be involved without being annoying. I find it quite relaxing. I'm still getting used to the alarm and need to remind myself. It has a good sound that is noticeable but doesn't throw you out of bed in the morning. Perfect for my preferences. Enough to wake me up, but not enough to wake me up in a bad mood. I'm glad I have this because I think it's a great device to keep and use next to my bed.
