I'm a real estate, landscape and video shooter and using a monopod is easier than using a tripod. It's much easier to carry around. My camera, lens and accessories weigh about 6.5 pounds. and does it with no problems. The base is heavy and the legs are long enough to provide good balance. The base can also be removed, significantly reducing weight. However, a hex wrench is required to remove the base. My other requires no tools. The Fluid video head is also large and of excellent quality, but not as well built as my other monopod. The quick release plate is very long and there are safety latches to prevent slipping even when not fully tightened. They even included an extra for a second camera. For photography, I replaced the video head with a significantly lighter ball head. Indoors, the legs provide enough support that I can use it as a tripod to get clear images. The downside is that you don't want to leave it, like any monopod it can easily fall over. But he's strong enough to let go when I'm around, to catch him when he starts to fall. Outdoors I removed the legs to make it easier to carry. For videos, the moving head has a smooth pan and tilt motion and is easy to operate even when moving the monopod to get camera movement. With the head and base removed, it can be used as an arrow. My gimbal can also be attached to make the movement even smoother. It comes with a nice pouch made from the same material as my backpack so it's durable and long lasting. It has both handles and a shoulder strap.
