When I received my Klipsch S4 I was excited to try it for the first time because of the many positive reviews. When I put them in for the first time, I was a bit surprised. No doubt the clarity of the sound was amazing but I found the sound a bit harsh and high pitched. Not the bass-heavy sound I was expecting. So I researched further and found that hacking these headphones is a must. My other issue with these headphones is that they don't stay in my ears. I went to the gym with them and changed them every 3 minutes. Then I read that you should get the Comply Tx-100 Isolation PLUS earplugs to improve the sound and prevent the headphones from slipping. After only 20 hours of break-in and using the Comply Foam Tips, the sound is significantly better, but not as warm as I would like. I temporarily ordered a Sony MDR-EX210B for $17. I have to say that from the start the Sonys were a lot better for a lot less money. At first the Sony were too bass-heavy, but after a couple of hours clarity set in. I know sound quality is a very personal matter and I'm by no means a music lover. But at over half the price, Sony didn't have to upgrade the earcups and sounded better without the hack. I will update in a few months after a full break-in period.
